Peaceful Poppies Gift Box

Peaceful Poppies Gift Box

hey guys thanks for joining me this is
angie at chic n scratch and this is what we’re making today the following
video was filmed live over on Facebook last night feel free to fast forward
through all the talking it’s the same project that I shared with you yesterday
Monday but using different stamps ink and paper I also use a cellophane bag on
the inside to hold the candy instead of just letting the Box hold the candy okay
if you need anything let me know and I hope you enjoy the video okay so we have
several housekeeping notes but I’ll go through them really quickly tomorrow I
already have it up on my online class area but tomorrow I’ll be posting all
the details of my heartfelt Valentine class it’s going to be free with a
minimum order of fifty dollars using this host code not this one and it’s
only going to be available for until the 10th because we want this this is going
to be a quick turnaround so it’s either free with this or with an
order $50 or you can purchase the make and take packet the one the purchase
option will be available a little bit longer as long as supplies last on the
material I already got everything organized for it okay so I told you
about that I had a couple people ask me about the joining paper trimmer so I
wanted to just really quickly and I forgot to bring paper here I’ve got some
back here someone asked about how big it is it’s not that big it’s just so
stinkin cute and you can use it for greetings and such so yes down here this
you can see it is six and a quarter the greatest cut you can do is at four and a
quarter okay six and a quarter by yeah I’ll show you
how easy it is to cut though it is really stinkin cute put your finger on
the grid I use a guillotine cutter already over there so I’m always used to
putting my finger on the grid or the thingy
okay shown you the trimmer here’s the bottom no blades because it’s self
sharpening that’s how guillotine cutters are and
let’s say I think that’s all my housekeeping yeah it is
Oh as I was designing my project today I’m not sure if you are interested in
this but when I was deciding my project for tonight literally like two hours ago
I am a visual person so I’m not an artist I’m not some fancy creative
person I am a process of elimination creator so I knew what stamps that I
wanted to use and I knew the boxer bag I wanted to make but I couldn’t figure out
where I couldn’t figure out what to use for the greeting so I’m using this I
used the strict rectangles one of our new punches one of our new punches
whatever you dies I mean I went I went round and round but that is quite the
collection so now I’ve got a whole bunch of these ready for whatever project is
coming up so I’m just gonna keep them here in my little pocket thingy and I
have them ready for whenever I need it they just didn’t match what we’re making
tonight so I thought I’d share that with y’all because it looks pretty right
these are what we’re using so we’re using the stitch so sweetly dyes the
layer and ovals dyes and the poppy moments dyes okay here are the supplies
that I’m using I’m gonna give you the measurements okay
real red eleven by three and a quarter another piece that measures five by
three and three eighths and another piece that measures it scraps it’s gonna
be for die-cutting so that’s our scrap piece then we’ve got basic black four
and a half by three another scrap for some die-cutting old olive for
die-cutting so those won’t have to be specific when they’re four
cutting and then the peaceful poppies designer series paper four and a quarter
by two and three quarters and I think all three projects that I have created
using this I’ve used the same pattern of paper I can’t help it this is my
favorite pattern of the paper and then some scraps for whisper white okay so
I’m gonna take does that fit yeah I’m doing things backwards a little bit
tonight so I’m gonna attach the designer series paper oh I better get this corner
here right sometimes when I take pictures of my projects I can see that I
missed place an adhesive in the corner okay there’s our element and now I’m
going to stamp the image thinking of you with all my heart
so this project tonight isn’t was made thinking of Valentine’s Day but it
doesn’t have to be Valentine’s Day so of course this greeting like I said was in
the peaceful moments bundle I’m using memento ink I’m going to take the five
by three and three eighths and score it at one inch on all four sides and then
I’m going to take the eleven by three and a quarter and I’m going to score it
at four and three quarters and six and a quarter so if you watch today’s video
this and this is the same but it’s being changed up so you’ll see what I mean in
just a min okay it’s kind of the same box so
someone asked me earlier today could I make the project this from this morning
bigger a mic well yeah I can but it kind of changes things and this already uses
eleven inches which is as tall as our cardstock goes we could use twelve by
twelve but I have found that most people most people don’t want to buy twelve by
twelve especially when it’s only in an assorted pack and you’re left with all
those other colors that you might possibly never use so I try to limit how
much I use twelve by twelve cardstock okay let’s go back I’m talking okay so
we’re gonna cut I get on a roll and then it’s like oh I should stop it’s hard to
edit that stuff out when I go to edit them okay so I’m going to do this on all
four corners you can also whack off a little if you want to which I like to this project looks so completely
different I think y’all are gonna love it
although sometimes when I think people are gonna love things they don’t and
then other times I think it’s just okay and so you can’t really predict okay so
where’s my liquid glue I’m gonna put adhesive on all four tabs I know I never
use liquid glue for the box making part of it but I see some of my downline on here I was
just fixing to say well one of y’all sin where you’re a reminder well one of
y’all text me when this is over and remind me to place my order I still
forgot I forgot again I had to go to the doctor today so I I forgot and I’ve got
to get it in tomorrow it’s something I forgot to order last week last Friday
yeah I placed two orders on Friday and still forgot to order a couple things okay there’s that part now we need so
we’re gonna cut out our greeting with this stitch so sweetly we’re gonna cut
out the leaf with the old olives the center of the flower with basic black
the flowers real red and then this is for our handle that’s a lot of cutting
right okay so let’s start with these forget the easiest ones out of the way
first so this is our flowers and then we can
probably squeeze in the leaf maybe the center of the flower not real sure oh
yeah okay can y’all see all that okay where’s my take your big tool I know there’s a glare sorry about that okay that one I’m not getting in a hurry
I’m just gonna take a deep breath and chill there’s that one this one you know
when I run these through the Big Shot when I’m not on a video they pop right
out it’s just because I’m live okay now we’re gonna take this and we’re gonna
cut the hole for the handle I hope that’s straight let me look at the
camera yeah it looks straight okay actually I want a little higher right yeah that’s good that come from okay now we have to make
the holes for our bag so what we’re gonna do now is take our adhesives
I’m gonna use my liquid glue but I could move this out of the way for a second
let me do that because we have to run this back through so someone asked me
earlier today why I didn’t cut all three at the same time we’re really not
supposed to and not that not that it’s a break-in the rule kind of thing is just
you don’t want to warp warp your dies and so I did try to cut three today just
to see just to see it would actually wouldn’t do it I still had to run it
through twice so yeah it don’t even work it’s there those framelits are too thin okay so I turn this thing back around
and we’re gonna take that die again now you might have to use some washi tape or
purple tape to hold that in place it looks like months gonna cooperate for
the time being so yeah we still have one more to do you can’t run it through the
big shot like this to get the backside you know what I mean like it’s going to
flatten it so you have no choice you have to you have to stick this in there
a little bit of adhesive and then I’ll bring these together and place that
right there and then we’re going to run this through again and then we only have
one more to cut I think all these steps will be worth it put
that in the box and then now we just have the greeting real quick my family
is eating dinner at Jose peppers without me can you believe the nerve of them
they’re like do you want to go out to eat I like it’s Monday you know I can’t
do it especially considering I fit in a doctor’s appointment today they’re gonna
bring me back a doggie bag but another die don’t want to lose that okay so now
I’m gonna get my silicone mat we’re fixing a build fine tip glue I have used
it every day since I told y’all I was challenging myself although I have to
say I think I fell in love with the liquid glue a lot quicker
I haven’t felt I haven’t fallen in love with it yet I’m just sayin hopefully in
a month I will change my tune I think the part of my problem is is I just have
such terrible vision that I can’t really see it’s just so small okay before I go
anywhere or do anything put the tip back in there so someone
told me put your finger there and then guide the tip in there okay that’s the
ticket that’s the trick rest it on your index finger okay that part’s done now let’s flip
this guy over and put some liquid glue except I can’t tell which sides the good
side in which sides oh I better yeah that’s the side that needs adhesive so
we’ll add glue to this one okay that part’s done we’re going to add a couple
dimensionals to the back of that since we have the you know okay now we’re
going to add the flour with liquid glue so I’m just going to turn it over you
could use the fine tip but like I said alright and haven’t quite completely
mastered it it looks pretty good they’re just going
to go down here now y’all see why I had all those other
images okay now I need my box back because we got to add that inside there so three by six gusseted cellophane bag
we’re gonna add a snack size bag of Skittles I’m shoving it to the bottom
because I don’t want it to be shown from the top and then I’m going to take a
couple of the Laffy Taffy’s cherry I don’t eat those anymore but my husband
does okay then I’m gonna fold this over like that I’m gonna take our Stampin Up
washi tape and then fold this over I’m going to place some liquid glue down
here at the bottom make sure it’s in the center there before I make sure it’s
stuck when I just shifted it come back here I was walking it back that should
be good okay now this is gonna go inside just like that so earlier today when I
showed this box someone asked about making this box taller because if you
notice like the candy can fall out pretty easily especially these round
thingies it’s because they want to get in my belly right cuz they’re so good
what are those things called real quick so the box I tried making the Box taller
a couple days ago and because this folds up like this it
you can’t really make it any taller because then when it when you go to
close it it’s like up here so I need to rework the configuration so for those
that wanted to add more candy this is my take on it you can put your candy in the
cellophane bag stick it inside there and look it doesn’t come up to the handle
because I folded the bag down and held it with washi tape you can use tape or
glue whatever you want but that holds it perfectly like that see okay
now we have to add a couple more things we’re not done yet
I’m going to use a three of the champagne rhinestones and you don’t have
to I mean yeah you don’t have to but everything has to have a little bling
right okay cute right okay we’re not done so
the rhythm that we have right now is but we have multiple red ribbon and I said
that right and didn’t mess up I’ve been using the real red cotton ribbon for all
of my Valentine projects I used it on today’s project I’m using it for team
bingo event and it goes really well with this but I’m gonna I’m gonna do
something different I don’t normally use retired product but this was in the
holiday catalog and I absolutely love this ribbon it’s like made for this
project it’s retired it’s not available I
believe and know it retired because I didn’t see it on the carryover list but
if you purchased it this ribbon would look so cute on this project but I have
my sample that I made earlier today so you guys will get to see both versions I
bought myself some extra rolls of this because I loved it so much I knew that I
would use it for my personal stuff you know yeah this ribbon is just I wish it
would have carried over maybe yellow like the thinner ribbon better I don’t
know we’ll see hold on sometimes if you fiddle with your ribbon too much then
you mess it up right I love it okay so let’s compare when you grab my
other one they’re both cute I’m always gonna choose the pupu for your ribbon
though but what do you think cute oh yes I have thousands of chick stands
is that what you asked yes yes bunches of them over on my website I didn’t know
when I ordered these that the paper piercer was gonna retire but to take
your pick tool works just fine and I use a little needle to hold this I use this
without the long stick because it’s so much easier for my hands but I just have
a needle in here and it sets in there perfectly so I’ve been using these half
size would mount stamp cases for my embellishments but the space that I’m
going to I am NOT going to have space to hold like 12 of these just to hold my
embellishments it did I just don’t have it I’m there’s no way I’m going to be
able to do it especially because this only takes up such a small amount of
real estate in this case so my choice is I could put multiple embellishments in
one but I don’t know that I’m going to have the shelving to hold these so I’m
venturing out trying to figure out how I’m gonna organize my embellishments so
these cases and these are different sizes and different companies this one
is from stampin storage and it holds their magnetic let me grab it they’re
magnetic sheets magnetic whatever they’re called they hold our dyes so the
larger ones are from stampin storage and I use those for my paper and stuff and
then these smaller ones are from totally-tiffany yeah so two different
websites you can let me know and I can give you the link to both of them I’ve
been using the ones from totally-tiffany to like to hold my embellishments like
normally I have a big ol well I’ll show you what I normally have this will make
you this will crack you up okay so this was all my doings from today like I
literally stamped and cut all of these trying to create this project that’s how
I create I don’t know how other people create I don’t not normally in the
presence of other demonstrators when they’re when they create so I think that
other people were probably quicker than me but this basket here is like all of
my you know all the things it’s like all my stuff ohms
you know oh look at that ah so cute um so but this basket ain’t gonna work on
my new place cuz it takes too much space so I’m trying to I’m doing this nail so
like I’ve got a valentine one right now and I’ve got the poppy one right now so
for every sweet I’m just gonna put all my stuff in there and I think maybe it’s
gonna make it’s gonna help my creating time I think I hope yeah so this next
month is gonna be like you’re gonna be seeing all kinds of crazy things because
I’m trying to figure out how I’m gonna exist in this smaller space did I talk
about my DSP organization Akane I can show you it’s really simple so I keep my
12 by 12 paper is that what you said 12 by 12 I think you did write my designer
series paper okay so my full sheets of 12 by 12 designer series paper I use the
stamp in storage units for all of them even my cardstock but for my scraps so
anything that is has been cut into it goes into one of these pocket thingies
and they don’t fit on those paper holders from Stampin Storage they’re too
big I wish whoever made these would make them smaller but then if they did I wish
they’d make them just like yeah three quarters of an inch smaller cuz all I
use them for scraps not full sheets the full sheets have a perfect spot for them
I guess I probably could cut back it off and and rig it to work but anyway yeah
so all my scraps look every time I see this face though I want to cry because
of the news bless their little hearts okay more questions let’s see do the new
demos get the ladybug stamp Barbara if you’re still on here
if you order 300 you can the opportunity to purchase it for
demonstrators was last month so now the only way to get it is to earn it with a
$300 order hopefully you can have some people go in some order some extra stuff
so you can get the ladybug set because we’re going to be having dyes here y’all
have a great night and thank you so much you
