Halloween Nails for Nightmare Before Christmas Movie DIY Nail Art Tutorial

Hi! It’s Lena and today I gonna show you how I
did Halloween nails for the movie Nightmare Before Christmas! The first nail will show a moon with the iconic
spiral mountain. Let’s start from applying base coat and 2
layers of yellow nail polish on the nail and let it dry. Apply liquid nail tape on the skin and cuticles
around the nail to reduce the amount of clean up. Apply a layer of fast dry top coat to prepare
your nails for using vinyls. Put a strip of circle tape in the center of
completely dry nail. Lightly push vinyls to the nail. If needed, cut them to stick to the nail better. Apply a layer of fresh purple nail polish
to the tip of the nail and black one to the root of nail and peel vinyls off as soon as
possible while nail polish is still wet. Remove liquid nail tape and fill out spots
using detail brush with black nail polish. Make edge of nail polish rounded and clean
up skin around the nail using clean up brush dipped into pure acetone. When nail polish is completely dry, apply
a layer of fast dry top coat to prepare nail for using vinyls. Put swirl stencil in the center of nail, lightly
push it to stick better. Paint purple nail polish over it and peel
vinyls off very slowly pulling it up while nail polish is still wet. Using detail brush dipped into purple nail
polish connect swirl to the purple nail tip to create mountain look from movie. Apply fast dry top coat and while it is wet
hold magnet close to the nail for several seconds to add dimension to our mountain. The second nail will show the graveyard. Let’s start from applying base coat and 2
layers of white nail polish on the nail and let it dry. Apply liquid nail tape on the skin and cuticles
around the nail. This will reduce amount of clean up after
doing ombre. Apply white, purple and black nail polishes
to the sponge as strips that are overlapping each other. Put 2, 3, 4 layers of nail polish to make sure
we have a lot of it inside of sponge. Push sponge to the nail at first to transfer
color and then start dabbing from root to tip and back to create ombre effect. Let nail polish dry on the nail and apply
another layer of ombre. You can use the same sponge if it is still
wet, but use a new sponge if the polish has dried up. You might need to repeat this step 2 to 4
times total if you don’t achieve opaque colors. Remove liquid nail tape and cut excess of
nail polish with scissors. Dip brush into pure acetone and make edge
of nail polish rounded near cuticles. Apply fast dry top coat to prepare nail for
using vinyls. Put a graveyard stencil on completely dry
nail and push it lightly to the nail near skin. Paint over stencil with fresh black nail polish
and peel vinyl off slowly pulling up as soon as possible while nail polish is still wet. Apply a layer of fresh fast dry top coat holding
brush parallel to the nail not to smear design. Let’s move on to the Oogie Boogie nail! I have created ombre effect on this nail just
like the graveyard nail and applied a layer of fast dry top coat to prepare nail for using
vinyls. Put a Pumpkin Face stencil on the completely
dry nail and push it lightly with a finger. Apply white nail polish over stencil and peel
it off as soon as possible while nail polish is still wet. After white nail polish dries up, create Oogie
Boogie shape using liquid nail tape and let it dry. Apply white nail polish on a sponge and dab
it to the top of nail. Peel liquid nail tape off while white nail
polish is still wet. Fill out missing spots with detail brush and
white nail polish. Clean up cuticle using brush dipped in pure
acetone. Apply fast dry top coat on completely dry nail
and we are done with our nail design. Please like and subscribe if you enjoyed this
