Glitter Gradient Gel Nails with Loose Glitter (easy nail art tutorial)
when I was in Chicago, interviewing AstroWifey
for NAILgasm: the nail art documentary, she gave me my very first glitter gel manicure
and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. Today I’m going to teach you how to create
your own loose glitter gradient manicure with your at home gel kit and craft glitters from
your local craft store you want to start with a clean palette – follow
the nail prep directions that came with you gel products to ensure that your nails are
completely free of debris and oil. Once your nails are clean apply gel primer.
next apply your base coat, make sure none of your basecoat is on your actual skin and
cure. once your base coat has been cured you’ll
notice your nails will be very sticky, which is perfect for laying down loose glitter.
next take your brush, I’m using a makeup concealer brush and press it gently into your first
glitter. Press your brush firmly down onto the base of your nail
don’t worry if there’s blank spaces where glitter should be, we’ll go back and cover
those up later continue with your next glitter color.
cleaning your brush off in between colors is optional once your third color of glitter has been
applied take another clean brush and gently remove any excess glitter.
then with the same brush press it down your nail so the glitter is nice and flat for when
we apply base coat next, apply base coat and cure
if you like the way your manicure looks at this stage you can stop, but I”m going to
add another layer of glitter to make this mermaid inspired nail design more intense.
once you are done applying your glitters, take a clean brush and remove the excess glitter
like before. Then press firmly down your nail from the base to the free edge.
apply base coat and cure finish off your glitter gradient gel nail
design by cleaning off the sticky layer that has formed on top of your nails with the gel
cleanser provided in your kit of 99% rubbing alcohol.
that’s it, you’re done, congratulations on giving yourself some awesome glitter gradient
gel nails. if you want to learn how to remove the glitter
from your makeup brushes keep watching hold you brush over a trash can and run a
toothpick or dotting tool through the brush back and forth until the glitter is gone.
that’s it I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, don’t forget

Love these! Super cute. I've yet to use loose glitter with my gel kit! Will try!
This was my first time. It's so easy I think I will be using it more often. Thanks for watching <3
Thank you so much and thanks for watching <3
thank you love <3
thank you love <3
Love it! So pretty and sparkly. Can't wait to receive my copy of Nailgasm!! <3
Beautiful color combination.
Do you need to apply gel topcoat at the end? Or do you just stick with the base coat the whole time?
Super cute! Can't wait to try!
Love your videos!!!! Please do more
Also wanted to ask is it necessary to use gel primer? If so which one did u use?
Love from England xxxxx
thanks, i will try this at home next week
Hi could you tell us which brand of glitter you're using? Thanks !
Awesome! I have the same Sensationail Gel Kit:)
simply beautiful… the rainbow version is what made my chair wet…
OMG I just did the same thing basically to my friends nails and wish i did a 2nd coat like you.. NOW I KNOW FOR NEXT TIME.. thanks <3
Great tutorial! Thanks! I use sensationail too and I always have such a hard time soaking them off! I have tried several brands of pure acetone, including the sensationail removal product, and I have to soak them for over 30 minutes just to be able to scrape it off with the metal removal tool (which usually takes part of my nail with it). It does not flake off like when I get a gelish or shellac manicure from a nail salon. I do use several coats because I like the strength it gives my nails, but I always file the heck out of them before I soak them, to the point where I can pretty much see my nail again on most of the nail. I have tried the foil + cotton ball method as well as just letting my fingers sit in the acetone. I have also tried soaking, then scraping or filing again, then soaking again. Do you have this problem too? If not, what do you use to soak them?
Base gel coat….. ??? Is that the Gel Top Coat. Do you apply the base coat first and then use a top coat each time?
I would have enjoyed this video much more if your voice wasn't so low and growly
You could do this on any tacky layer right? If I were to paint my nail white and then apply glitter to half the nail, it would still work? Thanks and your nails look Awesome!!!!!
That's really helpful thank you and I will subscribe ☺
I am totally doing this design next time !!!!!!!!! Love it! <3
The voice is so monotone.
This is so awesome!!!! And it looks gorgous and it's super easy to make!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks so much! I bought the set but I was looking for answers about adding glitter (when to add, how, …) and your video answers about all of my questions! 🙂
I actually found your voice different and wonderful! I .. Being a voice over artist myself , found the change refreshing 😀.. Very helpful video! Thankyou !
that was usefull thanks…..i ws allways wondering what was the best method to apply glitters to gel nail
This is so cool! I'm definitely going to try this today. I don't have gel varnish or the led lamp but I'm hoping it can work almost as well without the fancy equipment. Great video, thanks for sharing 💖
Please continue to ignore the negative comments about your voice. People are so quick to be mean and negative, far less quick to realise we're all human beings with feelings, which can be dented. I like your voice, it has an edgy tone and I love your accent. 💖💖
Is a gel top coat the same as a gel base coat?
