Hi, I’m Joey Grant, I’m here today at the
Cort Centre at the Music Radar Bass Expo, today I’ll be modelling the GB5, which is
a custom bass from Cort. It’s a jazz sounding bass but it’s an all round sounding bass as
well. What I like about the bass is the versitility between the seymour duncan jazz and the humbucker
for example, this is the bass with both pickups on at the same time. [music] That’s what it sounds like basically. If I
wanted to just have the jazz pickup, flick that switch right forward and you get a more
old school feel. So it’s like. [music] So with sound there if you’re in to James
Jamerson and all like one of the old school guys then that’s perfect sound.
Also if you flick it back now it’s just straight to humbacker which is a
really warm sound you still get clarity from the guitar but it’s a very nice. Punchy sound [music] So it’s a nice warmer sound so you have the
2 sounds together, it just compliments each other, you don’t have to really work yourself
in you just feel nice. The great thing about this bass as well, when you’re recording you
don’t even need to have an amp you can just plug in and you get the same perfect sound
every single time, whether you’re doing pop, funk, slaping, whatever you need to do, It’s just
great for that. So I’d definitely recommend the GB5 custom.
