Acrylic pour bookmark – with string technique

Hey guys and welcome to today’s video. I’m going to show you how you can create this bookmark with an Acrylic Skin Sticker. You will find all the material I use and a link to my book in the description below. The basic techniques of acrylic pouring and more information about the Acrylic Skin Stickers are shown in my tutorials. Now we are preparing the Acrylic Skin Sticker. For this tape the edges of a transparent foil on a stiff ground and roughen it with sandpaper. Then apply a base layer of acrylic color mixed with pouring medium and let it dry. From now on you can use the self adhesive foil like a normal canvas. I use a violet and a magenta mixture as a first layer then I add some drops of blue acrylic ink. For a swipe color I use white acrylic paint mixed with pouring medium. Then I’m swiping the white paint over the other colors. You can use a palette knife for that. With the palette knife you can also create some patterns or you can use the string technique – just move the color around with a string. After drying clean the surface from silicon oil rests. I use metal bookmarks with a transparent glass block on it. You can search for a most interesting area on your painting with the glass block. Then use some glue to stick the glass on the surface. Don’t press too much and use just a bit of glue. After drying you can easily cut around the glass block with a nail scissor. Remove the paper on the sticky side of the foil and apply it on the metal surface. You can also use a drop of glue to stick it to the metal part, but it also sticks like this. That’s how to finish pieces look like. Your unique bookmark is also a nice present for friends and family. Or you can turn it into a little food plate.
